We're glad you're considering joining The Tournament of Everyday Champions . . . before you do though, we've got to show you around and get you familiar with all the rules.
Rule #1
All the rules of traditional golf apply to this tournament.
General Rules for all Classes & Divisions
- All Professional's entry fees cover one full calendar year. ( January 1 - December 31 )
- All verified Amateur entries are free, subject to renewal each January 1.
- Contestants may enter at anytime of the year.
- Entrants do not have to enter scores every month to be eligible for prizes. However, you must enter your scores each week for four consecutive weeks in the month(s) that you wish to enter the tournament. Your best score for the week will count as your tournament entered score.
- Tournaments are run on a monthly basis throughout the year and consist of 4 (18 hole) rounds of golf for each tournament. Gross scores are entered weekly beginning on the first Sunday of each month. Scores will be entered on our web site, together with other pertinent information. The information must be entered by midnight Eastern Standard Time on the Saturday ending that week to be eligible for previous weeks prizes.
- Entrants may play on any course they wish, on any day they wish, as long as the course is Slope Rated. Slope ratings must also be entered for the tee boxes that you played. If slope is not available then you should enter 113 in the request box. This information is crucial for fairness and the integrity of the game. A score equalization formula will be used to make all courses comparable.
- Each entrant must have their scorecard attested to by atleast 2 other participants and the course professional (or assistant professional) and must save their score cards for a winner's audit. If any irregularities are found, or if you refuse to offer your cards when requested, you will be disqualified from the tournament and barred from competing for prizes in the future.
- If any entrant in any class is singled out for being dishonest or misrepresenting their score or other requested information in any way, an investigation will follow and if the allegation is corroborated then the said offender will be barred from all future ProAmOpen.com events. We hope and trust that all entrants are honorable, however, we urge everyone to be vigilant in this regard. ProAmOpen.com reserves the right to have any entrant's handicap index verified and/or changed at any time. To address the issue of changing handicaps, ProAmOpen.com may at any time institute the "Knuth Tournament Point System" or a modified version thereof in our rules.
- If ProAmOpen.com so chooses it may institute a system whereby scores entered for the purposes of competing on ProAmOpen.com are used in a handicap calculation at our sole discretion.
ProAmOpen.com reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein.
ProAmOpen.com reserves the right to reject the entry of any applicant, at any time, for any reason. Any decision of ProAmOpen.com, in any matter, shall be final.
- Tabulations are made every week and results ( The Leaderboards ) will be posted on our web site as soon as they are available. The Leaderboards will display: the contestant's name, country of origin, golf course played, and score as a plus or minus par figure. Each week during the tournament the submitted, adjusted scores will be added to obtain the final result. In all amateur classes there will be 7 flights. Golfers will not be slotted into a permanent flight and may win ProAmOpen.com Green Bucks in different flights as their skill level changes. In the classes that involve people with no registered handicap, the flights will change cut-off points, determined by the total number of competitors in the class, divided by 7.
- In all Amateur Classes, any tie for a prize, will be decided by a random draw. In the Professional Classes, ties will share the money, the same way that ties are handled in regular professional tournament play. One exception to this however, is that if there is a tie for the last payoff spot, and the amount of the prize is less than $100 US, in this case the winner will be decided by random draw.
- The organizers will not be held responsible for entries lost or delayed for any reason. By entering this contest, players agree to the rules as set out and agree to the use of their name, voice or photo in any promotion without compensation.
